Principle of Assay
This kit provides a simple, sensitive and rapid alpha-ketoglutarate dehydrogenase activity detection method, which is compatible with various biological samples, especially animals or plant tissues, and cells. The detection principle is based on the fact that alpha-ketoglutarate dehydrogenase can catalyze the conversion of alpha-ketoglutarate, NAD+ and coenzyme A to produce succinyl-coenzyme A, carbon dioxide and NADH. NADH has a characteristic absorption peak at 340 nm. Alpha-ketoglutarate dehydrogenase activity is calculated by measuring the rate of formation of NADH.
