Annexin Fluorescent Dye 488 Labelled / PI Apoptosis Detection Kit
Description
This kit detects apoptotic and necrotic cells using Annexin Dye 488 and Propidium Iodide, enabling green fluorescence detection of apoptosis and PI staining of dead cells.
Annexin V labeled with a proprietary green fluorescent dye binds phosphatidylserine exposed during apoptosis. In combination with propidium iodide, the assay allows discrimination of viable, early apoptotic, and late apoptotic or necrotic cells by flow cytometry or fluorescence microscopy.

HeLa cells were induced with camptothecin for 24 hours and stained using Annexin Fluorescent Dye 488 Labelled / PI Apoptosis Detection kit (A319604). The cell is a late stage apoptotic/necrotic cell with both Annexin Fluorescent Dye 488 Labelled and PI staining (green membrane with red fragmented nucleus).
HeLa cells were induced with camptothecin for 24 hours and then stained using Annexin Fluorescent Dye 488 Labelled / PI Apoptosis Detection kit (A319604). The combination of Annexin Fluorescent Dye 488 Labelled and propidium iodide allows for the distinction between early apoptotic cells (Annexin Fluorescent Dye 488 Labelled), late apoptotic and/or necrotic cells (Annexin Fluorescent Dye 488 Labelled and propidium iodide positive), and viable cells (unstained).
HeLa cells were induced with camptothecin of 4 different concentrations (0, 1:8,000, 1:4,000, 1:2,000, and 1:1,000)) for 24 hours and stained using Annexin Fluorescent Dye 488 Labelled / PI Apoptosis Detection kit (A319604). The combination of Annexin Fluorescent Dye 488 Labelled and propidium iodide allows for the distinction between early apoptotic cells (Annexin Fluorescent Dye 488 Labelled positive), late apoptotic and/or necrotic cells (Annexin Fluorescent Dye 488 Labelled and propidium iodide positive), and viable cells (unstained).
