Principle of Assay
In this kit, diamine oxidase (DAO) catalyzes oxidation of 1,5-pentanediamine to produce aldehyde and hydrogen peroxide. Horseradish peroxidase catalyzes the reaction of hydrogen peroxide and o-anisamine to produce a colored product which has a characteristic absorption peak at 460 nm. DAO activity is calculated by measuring the rate of increase in absorbance at 460 nm.
