Principle of Assay
This kit provides a simple method for detecting phosphoenolpyruvate carboxylase (PEPC) (EC 4.1.1.31) activity in a variety of biological samples such as serum, plasma, animal tissues, plant tissues, cells, and bacteria. In the assay, phosphoenolpyruvate carboxylase (PEPC) catalyzes the reaction of phosphoenolpyruvate and carbon dioxide to produce oxaloacetate and HPO42-. Malate dehydrogenase further catalyzes the reaction of oxaloacetate and NADH to produce malate and NAD+. The rate of NADH decrease at 340 nm reflects phosphoenolpyruvate carboxylase (PEPC) activity.
