Principle of Assay
This kit provides a simple method for detecting thioredoxin peroxidase / peroxiredoxin 4 (TPX) in a variety of biological samples, such as serum, plasma, animal tissues, cells, and bacteria. TPX catalyzes the oxidation of dithiothreitol by hydrogen peroxide. The absorption wavelength of hydrogen peroxide is 240nm. By measuring the rate of decrease in absorbance at 240 nm, TPX activity can be calculated by subtracting hydrogen peroxide decomposition catalyzed by catalase (CAT). Therefore, this kit can measure TPX and CAT activities of samples simultaneously.
