EthD-1 is a nucleic acid stain that penetrates damaged cell membranes and produces red fluorescence in dead cells, making it useful for cell viability assays.
Applications
Fluorescence Microscopy, Flow Cytometry
Principle of Assay
Ethidium Homodimer-1 is a high-affinity nucleic acid dye that cannot cross intact plasma membranes, making it useful for staining dead or membrane-compromised cells. Fluorescence increases strongly upon binding DNA or RNA.
