General Notes
Mouse anti Human CD256 antibody, clone D05-1D4 recognizes human CD256, also known as APRIL and TNFSF13. CD256, a 17 kDa soluble protein produced from the 32 kDa type II transmembrane protein by cleavage with furin, is a member of the tumor necrosis factor ligand superfamily (TNFLSF).CD256 and its receptor (TNFRSF17/BCMA) are both important for B-cell development (Langat et al. 2008) . It may also be implicated in the regulation of tumor cell growth and monocyte/macrophage-mediated immunological processes. CD256 is expressed in cancers of the colon, thyroid and lymphoid tissues and on monocytes and macrophages (Haiat et al. 2006).
