This antibody binds desmin, which is expressed in smooth and striated muscle cells and their tumors e.g. rhabdomyosarcoma and leiomyosarcoma in human, hamster, rat and chicken. The antibody does not cross react with vimentin or any of the other intermediate filament proteins.
