This antibody recognises DNA methyltransferase 1-associated protein 1, also known as DNMT1-associated protein 1.DMAP1 is a 52 kDa enzyme that functions as a subunit of several complexes involved in the repression or activation of transcription. As a component of the nucleosome acetyltransferase of H4 complex, DMAP1 interacts with the transcriptional corepressor tumor susceptibility gene 101 and the pro-apoptotic death-associated protein 6, among others. DMAP1 can also repress transcription independently through direct interaction with DNA methyltransferase 1.
