Rabbit anti EGF R (pTyr1148) antibody recognizes the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGF R), also known as proto-oncogene c-ErbB-1 or receptor tyrosine-protein kinase erbB-1, when phosphorylated at tyrosine 1148. EGF R is a transmembrane glycoprotein and a member of the ErbB receptor tyrosine kinase family. EGF R is a cell surface receptor for members of the epidermal growth factor family. EGF R plays a role in numerous cellular processes such as cell proliferation and apoptosis through the activation of downstream signaling pathways (Scaltriti and Baselga 2006).EFG R is autophosphorylated at tyrosine 1148 in response to ligand binding and receptor dimerization.
