This antibody recognises ETS-related transcription factor Elf-1, also known as E74-like factor 1 (ELF1).ELF1 is a small zinc-finger protein conserved in eukaryotes and some archaea. ELF1 is ubiquitously expressed in human cells and is a member of the ETS family of transcription factors and appears to act downstream of the DNA damage response pathway. In cancer, ELF1 appears to have oncogenic and tumor suppressive functions depending on context. ELF1 appears to play an antiviral role, with lower levels of ELF1 reducing host defense against the influenza A virus.

General Notes
Goat anti ELF1 antibody recognizes ETS-related transcription factor Elf-1, also known as E74-like factor 1 (ELF1).ELF1 is a small zinc-finger protein conserved in eukaryotes and some archaea (Ehara and Sekine 2018). ELF1 is ubiquitously expressed in human cells and is a member of the ETS family of transcription factors (Budka et al. 2018) and appears to act downstream of the DNA damage response pathway (Cheng et al. 2020). In cancer, ELF1 appears to have oncogenic and tumor suppressive functions depending on context (Budka et al. 2018). ELF1 appears to play an antiviral role, with lower levels of ELF1 reducing host defense against the influenza A virus (Seifert et al. 2019).
