Mouse monoclonal [NM3-6A9] antibody to Feline Immunodeficiency Virus p24.

This antibody recognises feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV) p24 gag capsid protein, derived from the p50 GAG polyprotein. The p24 capsid protein forms the conical viral core encapsulating the genomic RNA-nucleocapsid complex and is involved in viral packaging and subsequent release from infected cells. FIV is a lentivirus infecting many domestic and wild cat species, resulting in a progressive immunodeficiency disease bearing a number of parallels with HIV-1 infection in man. recognises a different epitope to clone PAK3-2C1.
