This antibody recognises forkhead box protein L2.FOXL2 is a 39 kDa transcription factor that belongs to the forkhead box (FOX) superfamily. This family of proteins is characterized by the forkhead box/winged-helix DNA-binding domain. FOXL2 plays an important role in the development and function of ovaries and inhibits the formation of testes via suppression of SOX9 expression. FOXL2 expression levels have been shown to play a role in the development of a number of pathologies, including adult granulosa cell tumors and endometriosis.
