This antibody recognises growth-associated protein 43 (GAP43), also known as neuromodulin, axonal membrane protein GAP-43, neural phosphoprotein B-50 and pp46, when phosphorylated at serine 41.GAP-43 is expressed in neuronal growth cones during development and during axonal regeneration and is phosphorylated at Ser41 by protein kinase C.
