Name
Anti-Gli3 Antibody
Description
Rabbit polyclonal antibody to Gli3.
Specificity
This antibody recognises the human Zinc Finger protein 3 (GLI-3), also known as GLI-Kruppel family member 3, a 169.8 kDa protein belonging to the GLI C2H2-type zinc finger protein of transcription factors.GLI-3 and the related GLI-2 proteins are the primary transcription factors that mediate Sonic hedgehog (Shh) signals in the mouse, GLI-2 being primarily a transcriptional activator while GLI-3 is a transcriptional repressor. GLI-3 plays a role in the development of the limbs and brain. It is expressed in a wide range of adult tissues including the colon, lung, spleen, testis and placenta.Defects in GLI3 are causative of a range of disease states including Pallister-Hall syndrome, type IV preaxial polydactyly, acrocallosal syndrome (ACS) and Greig cephalo-poly-syndactyly syndrome.GLI proteins are also implicated as potent oncogenes in the embryonal carcinoma cell.
