This antibody recognises Herpes Simplex virus 2 glycoprotein D (HSV2 gD) a major component of the virion envelope and infected cell membranes that is essential for virus entry into cells. Mouse anti Herpes simplex Virus 2 gD antibody, clone A33 reacts with a 56-64 kDa band, corresponding to glycoprotein D, in an HSV (purified) and infected Vero cell lysate immunoblot.
