Name
Anti-IL-34 Antibody [C03-5C3] (Biotin)
Description
Mouse monoclonal [C03-5C3] antibody to IL-34 (Biotin).
Specificity
This antibody recognises interleukin-34 (IL-34), also known as C16orf77. IL-34 is an inflammatory cytokine with the ability to induce macrophage activation and migration. This protein is produced by multiple cell types including endothelial cells, adipocytes, neurons, macrophages, fibroblasts, and epithelial cells (Franzè et al. 2020). IL-34 is involved with development and maintenance of multiple macrophage subsets, including osteoclasts, Langerhans cells, and microglia. If macrophages are cultured in the presence of IL-34, these cells show immunosuppressive properties. Due to its inflammatory role, IL-34 dysregulation can be involved with inflammatory bowel disease, rheumatoid arthritis, heart failure, and kidney diseases. IL-34 is overexpressed in several cancer types, and tumor cells can produce and respond to this cytokine (Franzè et al. 2020)The biotinylated Mouse anti Human interleukin-34 antibody, clone C03-5C3 (MCA6215B) can be used as a detection antibody in a sandwich ELISA with the purified Mouse anti Human interleukin-34 antibody, clone D02-3A7 (MCA6214GA) as the capture antibody.

General Notes
Mouse anti Human interleukin-34 antibody, clone C03-5C3, recognizes interleukin-34 (IL-34), also known as C16orf77. IL-34 is an inflammatory cytokine with the ability to induce macrophage activation and migration (Zhou et al. 2016). IL-34 is involved with development and maintenance of multiple macrophage subsets, including osteoclasts, Langerhans cells, and microglia. If macrophages are cultured in the presence of IL-34, these cells show immunosuppressive properties (Lindau et al. 2018). Due to its inflammatory role, IL-34 dysregulation can be involved with inflammatory bowel disease, rheumatoid arthritis, heart failure, and kidney diseases (Cheng et al. 2017).
