General Notes
Mouse anti human IRS2 antibody, clone G01-8F7 recognizes insulin receptor substrate 2.IRS2 is a cytoplasmic signaling molecule. IRS2 along with IRS1, is a key target of the insulin receptor tyrosine kinase. Serine/threonine phosphorylation of IRS2 has been shown to regulate insulin sensitivity, suggesting that it is required for hormonal control of metabolism (Copps and White, 2012). Reduced expression of IRS2 has been shown to result in type 2 diabetes and reduced brain mass in mice (Lin et al. 2004, Schubert et al. 2003)
