Name
Anti-Macrophage Inflammatory Protein 3 alpha Antibody [O03-3H12] (Biotin)
Description
Mouse monoclonal [O03-3H12] antibody to Macrophage Inflammatory Protein 3 alpha (Biotin).
Specificity
This antibody recognises C-C motif chemokine 20, also known as LARC, MIP3A, and SCYA20. The chemokine CCL20 is expressed mostly in the lymphatic tissue, lung, and liver, and is produced by cells involved with the inflammatory and immune responses. CCL20 plays an important role in recruiting inflammatory cells to the site of infection or injury. However, CCL20 is involved with pathogenesis of chronic inflammatory disorders, specifically interstitial lung fibrosis and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and can contribute to tumor metastasis. Inhibition of CCL20, along with its ligand CCR6, might have valuable therapeutic potential for treatment of autoimmune and inflammatory diseases, and is therefore a target of interest for drug discovery. The biotinylated Mouse anti Human CCL20 antibody, clone O03-3H12 (MCA6203B) can be used as a detection antibody in a sandwich ELISA with the purified Mouse anti Human CCL20 antibody, clone J03-4D4 (MCA6202GA) as the capture antibody.

General Notes
Mouse anti Human CCL20 antibody, clone O03-3H12, recognizes C-C motif chemokine 20, also known as LARC, MIP3A, and SCYA20. The chemokine CCL20 is expressed mostly in the lymphatic tissue, lung, and liver, and is produced by cells involved with the inflammatory and immune responses. CCL20 plays an important role in recruiting inflammatory cells to the site of infection or injury (Soto et al. 2017). However, CCL20 is involved with pathogenesis of chronic inflammatory disorders, specifically interstitial lung fibrosis and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and can contribute to tumor metastasis (Zhang et al. 2017). Inhibition of CCL20, along with its ligand CCR6, might have valuable therapeutic potential for treatment of autoimmune and inflammatory diseases, and is therefore a target of interest for drug discovery (Ranasinghe and Eri 2018).
