Name
Anti-MCP4 Antibody [B16-3D8] (Biotin)
Description
Mouse monoclonal [B16-3D8] antibody to MCP4 (Biotin).
Specificity
This antibody recognises CCL13, a member of the CC family of cytokines. CCL13, also known as MCP-4, is a 98 amino acid (aa) precursor protein which contains a 23 aa hydrophobic signal peptide that is cleaved to the mature form of the protein which is 75aa protein (8kDa). CCL13 is a chemoattractant for various cells including monocytes, T cells, immature dendritic cells and eosinophils. It has also been associated with various inflammatory diseases including asthma, arthritis, atherosclerosis and multiple sclerosis. CCL13 can bind to several chemokine receptors (CCR1, CCR2 and CCR3) to elicit chemoattractant responses. It is also known to induce degranulation of eosinophils and the secretion of pro-inflammatory cytokines. This biotinylated Mouse anti Human CCL13 antibody, clone B16-3D8 (MCA6177B) can be used as a detection antibody in a sandwich ELISA with the purified Mouse anti Human CCL13 antibody, clone B06-1G9 (MCA6176GA) as the capture antibody.
