Name
Anti-MDC Antibody - BSA and Azide free
Description
Rabbit polyclonal antibody to MDC.
Specificity
This antibody recognises human MDC, also known as macrophage-derived cytokine, CCL22, CC chemokine STCP-1, Small-inducible cytokine A22 or Stimulated T-cell chemotactic protein 1. MDC is a 93 amino acid, ~10.6 kDa member of the CC chemokine family expressed by macrophages, monocyte-derived dendritic cells, epithelial cells, fibroblasts and highly expressed in the thymus. MDC acts as a chemoattractant for monocytes, dendritic cells, activated T lymphocytes and NK cells, through binding to chemokine (C-C motif) receptor 4 (CCR4). CCR4 is selectively expressed by Th2 cells is linked to another ligand of CCR4, known as activation-regulated chemokine (TARC/CCL17), with Th2-mediated inflammatory disorders such as atopic dermatitis and ulcerative colitis.
