Rabbit polyclonal antibody to mGluR1a.

This antibody recognises rat metabotropic glutamate receptor 1a (mGluR1a). The metabotropic glutamate receptors have been organised into three groups. mGluR5 and mGluR1 make up group I which, when activated, stimulates phospholipase C and activates protein kinase C to hydrolyse phosphoinositide phospholipids in the cell membrane. Group I mGluRs, but not other groups, are activated by 3, 5-dihydroxyphenylglycine (DHPG).

Approximately 125 kDa (monomer) and 250 kDa (dimer) on lysate from transfected HEK293 cells. This antibody has also been reported to detect bands at approximately 120 kDa (reduced) and 210 kDa (non-reduced), in protein extracts from adult rat cerebellum.

Supplied in 10mM HEPES, pH 7.5, with 150mM NaCl, 0.01% BSA, 50% Glycerol, and 0.05% Sodium Azide.

Shipped at ambient temperature. Upon delivery aliquot and store at -20°C. When thawed, aliquot the sample as needed. Short term (up to 4 weeks): store at 4°C. Long term: store at -20°C. Avoid freeze / thaw cycles. Storage in frost free freezers is not recommended.
