Name
Anti-PAX5 Antibody
Description
Rabbit polyclonal antibody to PAX5.
Specificity
This antibody recognises paired box protein PAX5, also known as B-cell lineage specific activator protein (BSAP).PAX5 is a member of the paired box (PAX) family of transcription factors and is encoded by the PAX5 gene. PAX proteins contain a highly conserved DNA-binding domain, known as the paired box, and are important in the early stages of development. PAX5 is expressed during early stages of B-cell differentiation. Expression of PAX5 has also been observed in tissue from developing brain, spinal cord and testis, suggesting that PAX5 may play an important role in neural development and spermatogenesis.

PAX proteins contain a highly conserved DNA-binding domain, known as the paired box, and are important in the early stages of development. PAX5 is expressed during early stages of B-cell differentiation. Expression of PAX5 has also been observed in tissue from developing brain, spinal cord and testis, suggesting that PAX5 may play an important role in neural development and spermatogenesis (Adams et al. 1992).
