This antibody recognises the CD140a antigen also known as platelet-derived growth factor receptor alpha (PDGFRA), when phosphorylated at tyrosine 754.CD140a belongs to the tyrosine protein kinase family and plays an important role in embryonic development, the cell cycle and chemotaxis. Phosphorylation at tyrosine 754 mediates activation of specific signal-transducing molecules thus initiating signal-tranduction pathways from the alpha beta receptor heterodimer, which are distinct from those initiated via homodimeric receptor complexes.
