This antibody recognises serine/threonine-protein phosphatase 2A 56 kDa regulatory subunit gamma isoform, otherwise known as renal carcinoma antigen NY-REN-29.PPP2R5C belongs to the protein phosphatase 2A regulatory subunit B family. Protein phosphatase 2A (PP2A) is one of the four major serine/threonine phosphatases, and is involved in mediating cell growth and division. PP2A is a heterotrimeric protein consisting of a 36 kDa catalytic C subunit, a 65 kDa structural A subunit, and a variable regulatory B subunit. The exact B subunit present determines the substrate selectivity and catalytic activity of PP2A. PPP2R5C has also been shown to regulate ERK signaling through dephosphorylation of ERK.
