Rabbit anti PTPN11 (pTyr542) antibody recognizes PTPN11 also known as tyrosine-protein phosphatase non-receptor type 11, PTP2C or SHPTP2, when phosphorylated at tyrosine 542. PTPN11 is a member of the protein tyrosine phosphatase (PTP) family. PTPN11 contains two Src homology-2 domains which bind phospho-tyrosine domains. PTPs regulate numerous cellular functions including cell proliferation and oncogenic transformation. EphA2 has been identified as a kinase that phosphorylates PTPN11 at tyrosine 542 leading to the recruitment of Grb2 (Miura et al. 2013).
