Specificity
Rabbit anti retinoblastoma (pSer807) antibody recognizes retinoblastoma gene protein, also known as retinoblastoma-associated protein, p105-Rb, pp110 and Rb, when phosphorylated at serine 807. Retinoblastoma-associated protein is a tumor suppressor protein that plays a key role in G1 checkpoint control. In quiescent cells retinoblastoma-associated protein forms a repressor complex by binding to E2F transcription factors. Phosphorylation of retinoblastoma-associated protein results in dissociation from E2F, allowing for cell cycle progression.Retinoblastoma-associated protein is phosphorylated at serine 807 by cyclin-D-cdk4/6, cdk9, cyclin C/Cdk3, Cdk5 and p38 MAPK kinase (Macdonald and Dick 2012).
