This antibody recognises DNA-directed RNA polymerase II subunit RPB2.RPB2 is the second largest subunit of RNA polymerase II, the polymerase responsible for the synthesis of messenger RNA in eukaryotic cells. The RPB2 subunit combines with other polymerase subunits to form a structure within RNA polymerase II that maintains the contact between the DNA and the newly synthesized RNA within the active site of the enzyme.
