Name
Anti-SHP2 Antibody
Description
Rabbit polyclonal antibody to SHP2.
Specificity
This antibody recognises src homology 2 domain containing tyrosine phosphatase (SHP2), a 68 kDa member of the protein tyrosine phosphatase family. SHP2 acts downstream of growth factor receptors and cytoplasmic protein tyrosine kinases which transduce signals from cell surface to the nucleus. The recruitment and activation of SHP2 is mediated through the binding of CD172a to its ligand CD47.SHP2 regulates a variety of cellular processes. These include transcription, embryonic development, cell growth, cell migration, differentiation, mitotic cycle, haematopoiesis and oncogenic transformation. As a result, dysregulation of the SHP2 gene has been linked to LEOPARD, Noonan and Noonan-like syndrome as well as acute myeloid leukaemia. SHP2 is ubiquitously expressed, with highest levels found in heart, brain, and skeletal muscle.
