Specificity
This antibody recognises the Saint Louis Encephalitis virus strain (MSI-7) envelope glycoprotein. SLE is a flavivirus producing severe encephalitis in humans. The viral envelope contains a single glycoprotein serving as a major structural component of the virion spike.Clone 6b6c-1also reacts with other members of Flaviviridae including Japanese Encepahalitis (Nakayama), West Nile (EG101), Murray Valley Encephalitis (Original), Yellow Fever (17D), Dengue 1 (Hawaii), Dengue 2 (New Guinea C), Dengue 3 (H87) and Dengue 4 (H241).
