Specificity
This antibody recognises STAT2, also known as p113 when phosphorylated at tyrosine 690. STAT2 is a member of the STAT family of transcription factors. Upon ligand binding receptor associated kinases phosphorylate STATs causing them to dimerize and translocate to the nucleus. STAT2 forms a heterodimer with STAT1 where promotes transcription at interferon-sensitive response elements. Phosphorylation of STAT2 at tyrosine 690 by JAKs promotes the dimerization with STAT1.
