Specificity
Rabbit anti VAV3 antibody recognizes guanine nucleotide exchange factor, also known as VAV-3. It belongs to the VAV family of proteins; the main function of VAV proteins is to work as guanosine nucleotide exchange factors (GEFs) for members of the Rho GTPase family (Bustelo 2014). VAV3 was initially detected in expressed sequence tag (EST) libraries (Movilla and Bustelo 1999). It mediates receptor protein tyrosine kinase signaling (Zeng et al. 2000). Protein overexpression of VAV3 has been reported in several types of human cancer, including breast cancer (Lee et al. 2008) and prostate cancer (Dong et al. 2006).
