This antibody recognises WD repeat-containing protein 5.WDR5 is a member of the WD repeat protein family. WD repeats are thought to aid the formation of heterotrimeric or multiprotein complexes. WD repeat proteins play a role in a number of cellular processes, such as signal transduction, gene regulation, cell cycle progression and apoptosis. WDR5 expression is vital for vertebrate development. In human cells, WDR5 is also required for binding of the methyltransferase complex to the Lys4-di-methylated H3 tail and global H3 Lys4 tri-methylation.
