General Notes
Rabbit anti Human CD265 (soluble) antibody, recognizes CD265 also known as RANK, TNFRSFIIA, osteoclast differentiation factor receptor and receptor activator of NF-?B. This antibody recognizes the soluble TNFR homologous cysteine rich portion of the extracellular domain of the CD265 receptor. CD265 has major functions in bone remodeling, signaling to regulate osteoclast formation, activation and survival in normal bone modeling and remodeling in an array of pathological conditions characterized by upregulated bone turnover (Boyce & Xing 2008). CD265 signaling is induced upon binding of its ligand RANKL which results in the recruitment of one of several adapter proteins including TRAF6. This can result in the activation of the NF-?B, MAPK or c-Src signaling pathways (Nagy & Penninger 2015). Beyond its crucial function in osteoclastogenesis, CD265 has also been implicated in other physiological processes including immunotolerance, organogenesis of the immune system and osteoimmunology (Sigl et al. 2016).
