Specificity
Rabbit anti Cdk2 (pThr160) antibody recognizes cyclin-dependent kinase 2 (CDK2) also known as cell division protein kinase 2 and p33 protein kinase when phosphorylated at threonine 160. CDK2 belongs to the serine/threonine protein kinase family and CDC2/CDKX sub family and plays a vital role as part of the cell cycle machinery. Threonine 160 and tyrosine 15 are two major phosphorylation sites. Dephosphorylation of threonine 14 and tryrosine 15 and phosphorylation of threonine 160 are required to activate CDK2 (Gu et al. 1992).
