Universal Heme ELISA Kit is a 120 minute enzyme catalysis assay Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (eELISA) designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of universal Heme in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, and other biological fluids.
Assay Type
Enzyme catalysis (quantitative)
Principle of Assay
Universal Heme ELISA Kit (A303887) is a 2 hour enzyme catalysis assay designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of universal Heme in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, and other biological fluids. This assay utilizes an enzyme catalysis detection method in which Heme present in the sample participates in a catalytic reaction to generate a coloured product. The intensity of the colour produced is directly proportional to the concentration of Heme in the sample. Absorbance is measured using a colorimetric microplate reader and the concentration of Heme is determined by comparison with a standard curve. This assay has a detection range of 15.6–1000 pmol/mL with a sensitivity of 5 pmol/mL.

Linearity assessment of the Universal Heme ELISA Kit (A303887) across serial sample dilutions. Linearity was evaluated using Serum, EDTA Plasma, and Heparin Plasma samples serially diluted from 1:2 to 1:8. Recovery (%) was calculated relative to the expected Universal Heme concentration at each dilution. Data are presented as mean recovery values from 10 replicates (n = 10).
