Principle of Assay
This kit provides a simple method for detecting pyruvate kinase (PK) activity in a variety of biological samples such as serum, plasma, animal tissues, cells, and bacteria. PK catalyzes the conversion of phosphoenolpyruvate and ADP into ATP and pyruvate. Lactate dehydrogenase further catalyzes the production of lactic acid and NAD+ from NADH and pyruvate. The rate of NADH oxidation measured at 340 nm reflects PK activity.
