Principle of Assay
Proteins reduce Cu2+ to Cu+ under alkaline conditions, and the resulting Cu+ forms an orange-yellow complex with a proprietary chelator. The absorbance at 480 nm is proportional to protein concentration and develops rapidly at room temperature.
