Principle of Assay
In this kit GSSG is reduced to GSH using glutathione reductase. GSH reacts with 5,5'-dithiobis-bis-(2-nitrobenoicacid) to form 2-nitrobenoicacid which has a characteristic absorption peak at 412 nm. In this way, the total glutathione content in the samplecan be determined.
