Specificity
Rabbit anti EIF4B (pSer422) antibody recognizes eukaryotic translation initiation factor 4B, also known as eIF-4B, when phosphorylated at serine 422. EIF4B is important in protein synthesis and plays role in recruiting the 40S ribosomal subunit to the mRNA (Shahbazian et al. 2006). Phosphorylation of EIF4B on serine 422 was demonstrated to be mediated by S6 kinase (Raught et al. 2004, Shahbazian et al. 2006).
