Introduction
This is the most commonly used phorbol ester. It binds to and activates protein kinase C, causes an extremely wide range of effects in cells and tissues and is a very potent mouse skin tumor promoter. Inhibits apoptosis induced by the Fas antigen, but induced apoptosis in HL-60 promyelocytic leukemia cells
