Anti-Gastrin Antibody (Biotin)
Rabbit polyclonal antibody to Gastrin (Biotin) from FabGennix (GSTRN.101-BIOTIN).
|Name:||Anti-Gastrin Antibody (Biotin)|
|Description:||Rabbit polyclonal antibody to Gastrin (Biotin)|
|Applications:||ELISA, IMM, WB|
|Dilutions:||DB: 1:10,000; ELISA: 1:10,000; Immunoprecipitation: 1:150; Western Blot: 1:500|
|Immunogen:||Synthetic peptide taken within amino acid region 1-50 on human Gastrin preprotein.|
|Concentration:||0.55-0.75 µg/µl in antibody stabilization buffer|
|Storage:||-20⁰C for long term storage|
|Function:||Gastrin stimulates the stomach mucosa to produce and secrete hydrochloric acid and the pancreas to secrete its digestive enzymes. It also stimulates smooth muscle contraction and increases blood circulation and water secretion in the stomach and intestine.|
|Sequence Similarities:||Belongs to the gastrin/cholecystokinin family.|
|Post-Translational Modification:||Two different processing pathways probably exist in antral G-cells. In the dominant pathway progastrin is cleaved at three sites resulting in two major bioactive gastrins, gastrin-34 and gastrin-17. In the putative alternative pathway, progastrin may be processed only at the most C-terminal dibasic site resulting in the synthesis of gastrin-71.|
