Rabbit anti NFkB p65 (pSer468) antibody recognizes nuclear factor NF-kappa-B p65 subunit (NFkB3 p65) also known as transcription factor p65 or RELA, when phosphorylated at serine 468. NFkB p65 is part of the NFkB transcription factor complex that also includes RELB, NFkB1 p105, NFkB1 p50, REL and NFkB2 p52. NFkB regulates expression of a wide variety of genes involved in immune and inflammatory responses (May, M.J. & Ghosh, S. 1997). Serine 468 is phosphorylated by IKK epsilon in response to T cell co-stimulation and is important for NFkB dependent transactivation (Mattioli, I. et al. 2006). The NFkB pathway plays a critical role in mediating immune responses after infection and has been implicated in a variety of diseases ranging from autoimmune disorders to cancer.
