Specificity
Rabbit anti PAK2 (pSer20) antibody recognizes serine/threonine-protein kinase PAK2, also known as p21-activated kinase2 or PAK65, when phosphorylated at serine 20. PAK2 belongs to the p21-activated protein kinase (PAK) family, which are targets of small GTPases CDC42 and RAC1, and regulate apoptosis and cell motility (Knaus, U.G. & Bokoch, G.M.1998). In addition to autophosphorylation of PAK2 at serine 20 (Jung, J.H. & Traugh, J.A. 2005), phosphorylation of this particular residue can also induced by PKG (Yurdagul A, J.r. et al. 2013). Increased levels of PAK2 phosphorylated on serine 20 have been reported in ovarian cancer and implicated to play role in ovarian cancerogenesis (Siu, M.K. et al. 2010).
