Specificity
Rabbit anti SRC (pTyr530) antibody recognizes proto-oncogene tyrosine-protein kinase Src, also known as SRC1, when phosphorylated at tyrosine 530. SRC belongs to the SRC family of protein tyrosine kinases that mediate signal transduction of specific receptor pathways (Thomas, S.M. & Brugge, J.S. 1997). Rabbit anti SRC (pTyr530) is raised against the tyrosine present in conserved EPQyQPG motif. Human tyrosine 530 is commonly referred to and named according to the chicken SRC protein. In chicken, the corresponding residue is tyrosine 527 (Boggon, T.J. & Eck, M.J. 2004). Tyrosine 530 is a negative regulatory site of SRC kinase activity and is phosphorylated by the Src-specific kinase Csk (Nada, S. et al. 1991) or its homolog Chk (Hamaguchi, I. et al. 1996 and Davidson, D. et al. 1997).
