Specificity
This antibody recognises human transferrin, also known as beta-1 metal-binding globulin siderophilin or serotransferrin. Transferrin is 647 amino acid ~79 kDa iron binding transport glycoprotein involved in iron translocation from sites of degradation to those of of storage and utilization.Mutations in the TF gene can lead to the iron overload disorder Atransferrinemia (ATRAF) a disease characterized abnormal transferrin production, iron overload and microcytic hypochromic anemia.

Storage
Shipped at ambient temperature. Upon delivery aliquot and store at -20°C. When thawed, aliquot the sample as needed. Short term (up to 4 weeks): store at 4°C. Long term: store at -20°C. Avoid freeze / thaw cycles. Storage in frost free freezers is not recommended.
