Name
Anti-c-Jun Antibody
Description
Rabbit polyclonal antibody to c-Jun.
Specificity
This antibody recognises c-Jun, also known as p39. The c-Jun transcription factor is encoded by the c-Jun oncogene and dimerizes with c-Fos, JDP and ATF family members to form the AP-1 transcription factor. AP-1 is activated by a variety of stimuli including cytokines, stress and growth factors, and plays a critical role in cellular processes ranging from proliferation to apoptosis. c-Jun becomes phosphorylated on Serine 63 and Serine 73 by MAPK8 (SAPK/JNK) and PLK3, which regulate c-Jun transcription. c-Jun has been implicated in early tumor development, invasion and metastasis, and due to these findings has been identified as a target for cancer therapies.

General Notes
Rabbit anti c-Jun antibody recognizes c-Jun, also known as p39. The c-Jun transcription factor is encoded by the c-Jun oncogene and dimerizes with c-Fos, JDP and ATF family members to form the AP-1 transcription factor (Eferl and Wagner 2003).
