General Notes
Rabbit anti Human CtBP2 antibody recognizes C-terminal-binding protein 2.CtBP2 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the CtBP2 gene (Turner and Crossley, 2001). In mammals, C-terminal binding proteins (CtBP1and CtBP2) function as transcriptionalcorepressors (Shi et al. 2004). CtBPs bind to many different DNA-binding proteins as well as other co-repressors, such as friend of GATA (Fog), that are themselves bound to DNA-binding proteins (Fox et al. 1999).CtBPs are also able to dimerize and multimerize to bridge larger transcriptional complexes and function as scaffold proteins that enable the assembly of gene repression complexes. In mammals, there are two distinct isoforms of CtBP2; a 56 kDa isoform that functions as a transcriptional repressor, and a 106 kDa isoform that is a major component of specialized synapses known assynaptic ribbons.Rabbit anti human CtBP2 antibody recognizes both isoforms 1 and 2 of CtBP2.
