Name
Anti-CTBP2 Antibody
Description
Rabbit polyclonal antibody to CTBP2.
Specificity
This antibody recognises C-terminal-binding protein 2.CtBP2 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the CtBP2 gene. In mammals, C-terminal binding proteins (CtBP1 and CtBP2) function as transcriptional corepressors. CtBPs bind to many different DNA-binding proteins as well as other co-repressors, such as friend of GATA (Fog), that are themselves bound to DNA-binding proteins. CtBPs are also able to dimerize and multimerize to bridge larger transcriptional complexes and function as scaffold proteins that enable the assembly of gene repression complexes. In mammals, there are two distinct isoforms of CtBP2; a 56 kDa isoform that functions as a transcriptional repressor, and a 106 kDa isoform that is a major component of specialized synapses known as synaptic ribbons.recognises both isoforms 1 and 2 of CtBP2.
