General Notes
This antibody is useful for studies of neural stem cells, developing astrocytes and radial glia under normal and pathological conditions, and neural cell progenitors in adult brain.
Immunofluorescent analysis of rat embryonic brain section stained with Anti-FABP7 Antibody [2A84] (A270549), at a dilution of 1:500, in green, and co-stained with Anti-Vimentin Antibody (A85421), at a dilution of 1:5,000, in red. Anti-FABP7 Antibody [2A84] (A270549) stains developing astrocytes and radial glia, while Anti-Vimentin Antibody (A85421) reveals cytoplasmic intermediate filaments. Since the subcellular distribution of these two proteins is distinct, their expression patterns overlap but are not identical.
Western Blot - Anti-FABP7 Antibody [2A84] (A270549)
Western blot analysis of whole brain and neuron-glial cell culture lysates with Anti-FABP7 Antibody [2A84] (A270549), at a dilution of 1:1,000, in green. The lanes contain: [Lane 1] protein standard, [Lane 2] adult rat brain, [Lane 3] embryonic (E18) rat brain, and [Lane 4] rat neuron-glial cells lysates. The bands at approximately 14 kDa correspond to FABP7, detected only in developing tissue and cells. The same blot was simultaneously probed with Anti-HSP60 Antibody (A85438), at a dilution of 1:10,000, in red. The bands at 60 kDa represent HSP60 protein, which is labeled in all preparations and acts as a positive loading control.
