This antibody recognises zinc finger protein GLI1, also known as glioma-associated oncogene.GLI1 is a protein that functions as a transcription factor and an effector of hedgehog (Hh) signaling. GLI transcription factors activate/inhibit transcription by binding to GLI responsive genes and interacting with the transcription complex. During embryonic development, GLI proteins play a role in proliferation and cell fate determination (Ruiz i Altaba, 1999).
